SULTANAHMET

Sultanahmet Square  is one of the most important squares of İstanbul. At the Byzantine era it  was known as the Hippodrome. "The hippodrome" means that the horses of riding at the square. In the Ottoman period, it was called the horse Square here.
Steam baths, temples, religious, cultural, administrative and social centers that had settled in the vicinity. The most important monuments of İstanbul, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, underground Cistern, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum here, is around the Hippodrome.

Blue Mosque:

The symbol of İstanbul, one of the most important architectural monuments of the Ottoman period, one of the Sultanahmet Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, built at the beginning of the 1600s.

Sultanahmet Square: 

The most important historic building of İstanbul hosts the Sultanahmet Square throughout history have always been a very important center. Today it is one of the world's most important square in Sultanahmet Square approximately 2500 years.
