Slow city Taraklı (cittaslow) in Turkey

Taraklı (cittaslow)  city is in the east of the Marmara region in Sakarya city  borders.Taraklı city, 270 km away from the capital Ankara. It is located in North West part of the capital. Taraklı District, is set in a narrow valley has a wooded terrain. It is surrounded by high mountains and hills. East of the town of Bolu there is Göynük district, on the west Geyve District, it is located on the  south and north of Bilecik Gölpazarı Akyazı Town district.
Black Sea climate is seen in the Taraklı  city. Four seasons is seen in a year in Taraklı city. The  former name of Taraklı is  "Dablar" and in a Helenistical period it was called ''Bytinia''.

At the beginning of livelihood is agriculture and livestock come. As well as through its Adult Education Centre again spreading the Taraklı  Cloth is involved in the revenue of the ladies. Taraklı cloth and wooden spoon is famous for the city. Plum and quince, which is very famous in Taraklı  is now almost no fruit production. In the city in recent years, artichokes, strawberries and cherries and sour cherries are produced in the high region.
Taraklı 's  popular taste is also one of the famous foam candy.

Taraklı  has become a major cultural tourism center and Taraklı  district has initiated major restoration work on the historic buildings. Taraklı  has become a  cultural tourism center. The Mayor of the city  said that a thermal project to be implemented in terms of health tourism in the city. Located in the district of Sakarya which is the remote and mountainous regions in Sakarya, tourists come from while other districts and from other countries. Yunus Pasha Mosque was  built by Mimar Sinan in  493 years, one of the places to be seen. The city  contains the best examples of Ottoman wooden architectures. With the help of historical buildings of the city in  here, attracts people who are visiting the place.
