Things to do in Bursa - Some places to visit in Bursa

Bursa is one of the most important winter tourism center of Turkey. It is very popular city especialy in the winter season. Bursa is the fourth biggest city of Turkey with it's industrials, tourism centers and population. Bursa city is famous for its own delicious food, candied chestnuts and iskender kebap. If you didn’t try it before, this taste can be convenient for you.

Bursa Botanical Park
It is a 1 degree natural protected area since 1998. There are lots of plants like 150 species of trees, 27 varieties of roses, 76 types of shrubs and more. In the park there are lots of different areas like jogging paths, walkways, bike paths, table tennis areas  and more.

Iznik Lake
It is the fifth largest natural lake of Turkey. There are daily rest areas, beautiful picnic areas and it is open to the tent tourism.

Bursa Ulu Camii (Bursa Grand Mosque)
It was built between the years 1396 to 1400 by 1.Bayezid. The mosque is rectangular and it is 5000 square meters and covered by 20 domes. Bursa Ulu Camii is one of the oldest mosques of the Turkish-Islamic world. Bursa Grand Mosque is located at the center of Bursa.

Yeşil Türbe (Green Tomb)
Green Tomb is one of the symbol of the Bursa. 1.Mehmet Çelebi built the tomb and he died after 40 days later. It is octagonal planned tomb and it has a domed structure.

Irgandı Bridge
It was built in 1442 by Hacı Muslihiddin and it restored by Osmangazi Municipality in 2004. The bridge that it has performed the traditional crafts of artisans in Bursa. You can see some craftsmans who performed  the Turkish traditional crafts.

Türk İslam Eserleri Müzesi (Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum)
You can see Minesto the  ceramic, wood, processing, weapons, manuscripts, coins, inscriptions and tomb stones with ethnographic materials from 12th century to 20th century.  It was built in 1419 By Çelebi Sultan Mehmet. The other most important museum in Bursa is Yüzyıl Osmanlı Evi Müzesi(Century Ottoman House Museum).

Muradiye Külliyesi(Islamic-Ottoman social complex)
It is one of the most important  of historical buildings in our list. It was built by Sultan Murad II between the years 1425-1426. It is the last complex which built by Ottoman Sultans in Bursa. It is one of the most important historical building to visit in Bursa.

Tophane saat kulesi(Clock tower)
The clock tower was built by Sultan Abdulaziz 1. and it is located close to the tomb of Osmangazi and Orhangazi. The tower has 6 floors, 65 meters long and 4.65 meters width.

Koza Han
It is located between the Grand Mosque and Orhan Mosque and  it was built in 1491. Koza Han used to be places where the sale of silkworm cocoons in old times.On the top floor of Koza Han there are some shops which sell silk products, on the lower level has some cafeterias. Koza Han has 95 rooms and  a mosque in the small middle. There is a fountain beneath the mosque.

Bursa Castle - Saltanat Kapısı(Imperial Gate)
Bursa Castle,  was built in the BC 1st century. The length of the walls are about 2 km. The doors in the castle are Pınarbaşı Kapısı, Yer Kapı, Kaplıca Kapısı, Zindan Kapısı and Hisar Kapı.

Uludağ
Uludağ is one of the most popular and important winter tourism location of Turkey. There are lots of winter ski sports areas and hotels for winter tourism. It is one of the largests holiday region for winter vacations.
