Gülhane Park - Istanbul

It is one of the oldest history of İstanbul park is Gülhane Park. It  is located between the Sarayburnu,Topkapi Palace and Alay Köşkü in Eminönü. Gülhane Park, during the Ottoman Empire it was the outer garden of Topkapı Palace and originally served as a grove in the rose garden. It is organized in 1912, has been turned into a park and opened to the public during the time of Cemil Pasha(Topuzlu). At the park of the entrance on the right side there are mayors busts.

Through the middle of the park, the road left and right rest areas, children's playground are available. Right next to the road leading down towards the İstanbul Bosphorus at the end of the ramp, there is the statue of Aşık Veysel.

There are some of the plants in the besides there are some historical places, like İshak Pasha mansion, Selim's two Marble Mansion is among them. Also, Gülhane Pavilion was one of the most important building that was built by Abdülhamit. They are now the remains. There are ways in the direction of the Hagia Sophia as well as Alemdar between Topkapi Palace and Gülhane Park. Sultans and the people who lived in palace, they used to this road to go to the grove. Now there are museums on the road right by the Topkapi Palace.

Gülhane Park has gained its importance after the independence war of Atatürk's first set foot into the place.The first Atatürk's statue was erected in 1927. Park since then, is a favorite place of the public promenade. Nearby the sea gives the parkas a separate feature.

Gülhane Park was restored by İstanbul metropolitan municipality in 2003, the old glory of the days of park is uplifted again. There is a good place for the visitors of Gülhane Park, you can drink your tea towards a magnificent Bosphorus. The biggest advantage of this tea garden, is a spectacular views of the Bosphorus scene.
